Pursuing Wellness in a New Season banner

As fall settles in, so do unfortunate things like awkward weather-shifts, flu season and midterms. In the midst of crazy transitions, it is important to remember the value of staying both physically and mentally well. To help, Beach Balance has a number of events and programs this month with opportunities to pursue holistic health and wellness!

  • Art Therapy
    Every Tuesday in November, Beach Balance Wellness Rooms
    If you’re feeling stressed out, you can stop by Beach Balance to draw, color, write letters and express yourself through art. This is a space to disengage and reflect, heal, boost your mood, or simply relax.
  • Aromatherapy
    Dec. 11 | 6 – 7 p.m. | Beach Balance Wellness Rooms
    These informative sessions allow you to learn about rollerball blends, essential oils, sanitizers, scrubs and other aroma compounds for the purpose of heightening mood or helping you relax. This is a great resource for tools to destress or serve therapeutic purposes. You can even walk away with your own customized oil blend!
  • Food for Thought
    Dec. 4 | 4 to 6 p.m. | SRWC Lobby
    Every first Monday of the month, Beach Balance hosts a healthy snack station to provide you with free food and nutrition information. You can properly fuel before and after your workout, and receive any information from nutrition/dietetics students at the event.
  • Night of Relaxation
    Dec. 6 | 6:30 to 8 p.m. | Beach Balance Wellness Rooms
    Held in partnership with the fitness department, this annual event is a huge hit among students. This is an excellent opportunity to relax yourself before finals by partaking in yoga and an extended meditation session.
  • Beach Balance Weekly Events
    Enjoy any of Beach Balance’s weekly events!
    • Meditation Mondays – Self-Meditation, 5 to 6 p.m.
    • Spa Water Tuesdays – Fruit-Infused Water, Beach Balance Hours
    • Well Rested Wednesdays – Indoor Hammocks, Beach Balance Hours
    • Chair Massage Thursdays – Chair Massage, 4 to 6 p.m.
    • Foam Rolling Fridays – Foam Roll, Stretching – 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Beach Bingo
    Knock out the weekly events with free Beach Balance Bingo! If you do any of the listed weekly events, you can mark it off on a card. Once you’ve completed a row, visit Beach Balance to get a prize!
