Third year athletic training major Lizbeth Acosta loves the SRWC so much she’s chosen to work two jobs there! Starting as a front desk membership services representative in March 2015, she added a position as building manager in April 2016.
For Colton Dahlenburg, maintenance at the SRWC is not only exciting—it’s the perfect stepping stone into his future. “My job is great, especially when I think about owning my own house or apartment; a lot of my current tasks transition into day-to-day tasks or issues that may come up around the house,” Colton said.
For Intramurals Assistant Anna Rubino, employment at the SRWC has brought a supportive, fun environment and lasting friendships!
For membership representative Nick Van Hoorn, working has never been better or more convenient! Working at the SRWC front desk, Nick takes phone calls, handles memberships, gives tours and ensures that the SRWC biometrics work efficiently.
Having worked at the SRWC since August, building manager Andrea Salas has thoroughly enjoyed working in a positive, helpful environment. “This is my second job on campus, but I like being in this position because I’m surrounded with like-minded people and students pursuing a healthier lifestyle,” said Salas.
Since transitioning into a working environment as a lifeguard, second year Alexis Sorensen has found it to be much more exciting than she expected. As a lifeguard, Alexis’ responsibilities include informing students about SRWC policies, offering lifeguard and CPR/first aid classes, and ultimately ensuring the safety of everyone using the aquatics center at SRWC.
Recent fashion design and merchandising graduate Gabriella “Gabby” Rivera started using the SRWC as a member as soon as it opened in 2010—and was instantly hooked. The following year, Gabby joined the ASI Recreation team as a weight room attendant and continued with the organization for the next four years!
