Interior design major Lindsay Kneale lives right down the street from the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) and like most students, she too thinks it’s very convenient and a great place to work out. “This building is beautiful, it’s new, and students like me might as well take advantage of it,” she said.
Kneale loves the classes that are offered, especially the spin classes. “Spin classes are my favorite because the teachers are very energetic and I love group exercises,” she said. “You push yourself more in a group atmosphere.”
As a student, Kneale thinks all students should want to live a healthy lifestyle and be active. “I notice that a lot of people want beach bodies, but they don’t put in the work to obtain it.”
If you have no idea how to get started, but want to start being active, Kneale recommends racquetball as a major stress reliever. “You don’t need to know how to do it, but just hit the ball,” she said. “It’s great for people who have stressful majors or lifestyles. It’s actually a great ab workout since I laugh the entire time.”
Currently, Kneale is training for the Spartan Race and has been thinking about getting a personal trainer at the SRWC. “I don’t want to have the same workout routine and I know that personal trainers are very knowledgeable about creating different workouts,” she said. “This Spartan Race is pretty intense, so I need to be ready.”
